Seasonal Opportunities (Winter):
Snowmaking
Snowmaker
Our Snowmakers are the first step to a great season at Eldora Mountain Resort! This position includes operation of snow guns, keeping equipment clear of snow (shoveling) and moving equipment from trail to trail. The position includes 12-hour shifts, day or night. Must be able to work outside in physically demanding winter conditions. Must also have the ability to safely lift, drag and/or pull over 75 lbs on a regular basis. Must also have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $9.50/hour.
Lift Operations
Lift Operators
Ensuring our guests have a memorable experience goes hand in hand with their safety. Executing the safe, efficient and courteous loading and unloading of skiers and riders is essential to this position. The position also requires shoveling and maintaining safe levels of snow throughout the entire lift station area. It is also of great importance to interact with guests to ensure a positive experience, promote safety in the workplace and maintain clean and neat work stations. Must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.50/hour.
Retail
Retail Sales Associate
Come be a part of our exciting Sales team! The responsibilities for this position include: ensuring outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, greeting and acknowledging all customers, and assisting them with locating merchandise. Other duties include but are not limited to: generating sales, keeping current on product knowledge, completing sales utilizing POS system with accuracy and efficiency, maintaining awareness of all promotions, sales and advertising. Cash handling skills are preferable but required. This is a part-time position. Starting rate is $8.45 per hour. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season.
Base Operations (Parking & Cleaning/Snow Plow Drivers)
Base Operations Staff
This position is an excellent avenue for getting to learn about the resort’s day to day operations. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: guiding guests to their appropriate parking spots; cleaning common areas (tables, floors and restrooms); keeping outdoor walkways and entrance areas clear of snow by shoveling or using a snow blower; driving a bus to shuttle resort guests. (Commercial DL not necessary). Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.00/hour, plus food credit.
Snow Plow Operator
First impressions are essential for ensuring our guests have a memorable and unforgettable experience. Having a clean, snow free parking lot is key for our guests' first impression. We are seeking experienced heavy equipment operators to accomplish this. Ideal candidates will have experience safely operating a 936 loader (or similar) and a dump style truck with a blade attachment. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays, as well as late nights/early mornings in adverse weather conditions during the ski season. Starting wage $12.11/hour.
Food & Beverage
Cooks
Help to ensure our guests are well-nourished during their time at Eldora! This position is an entry-level cooking position requiring a positive work ethic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: understanding the importance of standards, speed, and quality; practicing good personal hygiene, safe food handling and culinary skills and performing basic cooking tasks for the cafeteria. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.50/hour.
Nordic Center
Cashier/Rental Technician*
Our Nordic Center provides another great experience for our guests on the mountain. This position entails being the first point of contact for our guests at the Nordic Center. The essential duties include but are not limited to: selling tickets, rentals and retail products to guests; assisting with maintenance of lodge and Nordic gear and monthly retail inventory. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.45/hour.
* Experience with Nordic skiing and retail sales preferred but not required.
Nordic Instructors (Nordic & Telemark - Non certified or PSIA certified)
Ensuring safety and skier responsibility is top priority while teaching as a Nordic Instructor. Instructors will ensure the best possible experience for our guests. Responsibilities are to instruct group and private lessons of varying ability levels to all ages as assigned as well as guide snowshoe tours and assist with rental gear. Another key component is focusing on individual engagement and progression. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. This is a part-time position. Starting rate $10.00/hour (noncertified) & $11.25-$15.25/hour (based on certification).
Telemark and Cross Country ski instructor academies will be held in December. This is a chance to become acquainted with the Nordic department and the teaching and skiing skills needed to be an instructor. You do not need to be an expert or certified skier. However, intermediate skiing skills or better are required. Attendance at an academy does not guarantee a position. To register, email Nancy Colton at nordic@eldora.com.

Rental equipment is not included. Please bring a lunch or plan on purchasing lunch. Trail pass and/or lift ticket will be provided.
Rental Shop
Rental Technicians
Getting guests ready to hit the slopes by having the proper equipment is essential to an enjoyable experience at Eldora. As a Rental Technician your duties include but are not limited to: assisting guests with appropriate ski or snowboard equipment and outerwear rental; setting skis and snowboards. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Students (age 16-17) may work in rentals fitting boots. Starting rate $7.80/hour and Students starting rate $7.36/hour.
Repair Technician
Sometimes skis and snowboards need repairing and this position provides top notch service to those guests in need of equipment repair. Having the ability to communicate effectively with our guests to ensure their needs are met is one key component to this position. You may also assist customers with rental selections, and educating them on the proper care and use of the equipment. Also maintaining the rental equipment is in good condition is an important requirement to ensure the safety of our guests. Prior experience required. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $9.91/hour.
SnowSports
Currently there are no openings for positions in Snow Sports.
Guest Services
Cashiers
Our guests value our service and ensuring their satisfaction is our goal. As a Cashier you will be responsible for providing friendly service to guests while handling purchases, accepting payment and making change. Also your responsibilities include but are not limited to: moving guests through the cash register area in a quick and efficient manner; accurate handling and counting of cash; maintaining cleanliness of cashier area; resolving issues and assisting guests with any questions. Cashiers must also have the flexibility of rotating posts to other cashiering departments as assigned. Must have the flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.45/hour.
Reservation Information Representative
Be a valuable asset to our resort by providing exceptional customer service in making reservations for services and activities in an inbound call center environment. It is the Representative's responsibility to match guests' needs with the appropriate products, while setting clear and accurate expectations and ensuring reservations are free from error. Excellent communication, customer service & sales skills, teamwork, basic computer skills and ability to work in an office environment are a must as well as maintaining call flow efficiency and customer satisfaction. Must have the flexibility and ability to work on weekends and holidays during the ski season. Starting rate $8.84/hour.
Ski Patrol
We currently do not have any openings for patrollers. Check back in the early spring for ski testing dates to be a patroller for the 2012-2013 season.
