Nighthawks

Wednesday nights for six consecutive weeks (January 25th to February 29, 2012) we host a race series featuring Downhill, Telemark, Snowboarding, X-country Classic, X-country Skate and Snowshoe events that continues to grow in popularity.

Here are some of the details:

Downhill, Telemark & Snowboard:

• Dual GS format.
• Individuals or teams of 6 may participate.
• Team rules: must have four finishers including one woman.
• Lift ticket or season pass required
• $15 ticket for non-season pass holders.  Tickets can be purchased in the Corona Bar, Timbers Lodge each night.
• Entry / registration fee:
  $10 per individual each night.
  $50 per team each night or $300 per team for the entire series.  Entry fee can be paid in the Corona Bar, Timbers Lodge each night.
• Open to Downhill, Telemark and Snowboard.
• Registration starts at 4:30 pm in the Corona Bar in Timbers Lodge each night.
• Start time at 6:00pm (training course from 4:30 to 5:30 pm).
• Lift closes at 8:00pm

Nordic & Snowshoe:

• 2K loop at the base of Eldora under the lights. Skating and Classic tracks.
• Distance is 6-8K (3-4 laps) for nordic races.
• Distance is 4-6K (2-3 laps) for snowshoe races.
• Snowshoe course - bring a headlamp!
• Fees:
  $15 per race or $75 for series (adult) for non-season pass holders.
  $12 per race or $60 for series (adult) for season pass holders.
  $7 per race or $35 for series (19 & under or 60 & over) for non-season pass holders.
  $5 per race or $25 for series (19 & under or 60 & over) for season pass holders.

• Registration 4:45-5:45pm race day, at the Nordic Center.
• Start time for Snowshoe race at 6:00 pm.
• Start time for Nordic race at 6:00 pm.
• 4 age categories in each gender: 19 & under, 20-39, 40-49, 50 and over.
• Scoring: points awarded for each race towards the overall series.
• Awards for top 3 in each age category (male and female) at series end.
• Nightly raffles plus series finale awards in the Nordic Center following the races.
