Transportation, Arrival, and Parking Information
Arriving at Eldora
Eldora is conveniently located just 21 miles west of downtown Boulder, Colorado, near the vibrant mountain town of Nederland. Getting here is easy, especially on public transportation—just hop on RTD’s NB bus at Downtown Boulder Station and get off just yards from our Alpenglow chairlift (view schedule here).
Single-Occupancy Vehicle (SOV) Fee
In alignment with our Play Forever sustainability philosophy and as required by Boulder County, Eldora collects a fee from single-occupancy vehicles (SOVs) on Saturdays, Sundays, certain holiday periods, and weekdays with 10 or more inches of new snow. Eldora may also, at any time and without advance notice, decide to charge SOV fees on additional days, as operationally necessary, to reduce SOV arrivals, manage traffic inflow, and conserve parking. On SOV fee days, parking is FREE for vehicles with two or more people. Vehicles with three or more occupants are considered HOVs and may utilize premium up-front HOV parking near the Alpenglow chairlift on a first-come, first-served basis.
26/27 SOV Fee Days
- TBA
High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Parking
The westernmost section of Eldora’s parking lot, known as Elk Lot, will be reserved for vehicles with three or more people, seven days a week. HOVs may park here on a first-come, first-served basis. The HOV parking zone provides convenient access to our Alpenglow chairlift and Eldora’s lodges. When the HOV zone is full, HOVs will be parked in any available space elsewhere in our lots. If you are coming from Boulder or greater Denver, please use our Facebook carpool forum to meet up with other skiers and riders at one of Boulder's many free weekend parking spots.
RTD Bus Service
Eldora is the only ski resort served by RTD, Colorado's largest public transportation system. The RTD NB Route bus departs from Downtown Boulder Station at 1800 14th Street in downtown Boulder, stops a few more times before the Nederland Park-n-Ride, then drops you off right in front of our Alpenglow high-speed chairlift. At the end of the day, just catch the NB Route bus at the same spot. Youths 19 and under ride for FREE through RTD's Zero Fare for Youth Program.
Note: RTD bus service to Eldora ONLY operates when we are open to the public in the winter season.
Parking is free on weekends at the City of Boulder's parking garage right next to the Downtown Boulder Station (1800 14th Street), the Boulder County Justice Center (6th & Canyon), The People's Crossing (Pearl & Canyon), and the Nederland Park-n-Ride. RTD's NB Route bus stops at each location and then drops you right at the lift.
Justice Center Shuttles
Our Justice Center Shuttle program was initially introduced to provide an every-hour free transportation option from Boulder on the weekends. Since RTD has recently increased its NB departure frequency to every hour on weekends, the Justice Center shuttle service is no longer necessary.
Please note that parking at the Justice Center for carpooling purposes is only allowed on the dates listed below.
