Eldora Mountain Opens for the 2025-26 Season Friday, November 14
Skip the Drive, Not the Vibes, at the Front Range’s Closest Ski Area
Eldora Mountain, the closest and most convenient ski and snowboard destination to Colorado’s Front Range, kicks off a vibrant and fun-packed early winter when it opens for the season this Friday, November 14, 2025.
Opening with 1,000 feet of vertical drop—including Hornblower and International trails, plus a small Woodward Terrain Park in the base area—Eldora is less than 50 miles from downtown Denver and only 20 miles from Boulder, offering the closest skiing and riding to the metro area and easy transportation on RTD’s public NB bus route from downtown Boulder.
Starting Friday, guests can enjoy live musicians and DJs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, plus a packed event calendar that includes the Eldora Uncorked Jazz & Wine weekend, Peaks & Pints beer festival, Woodward Terrain Park events, and more. The event calendar can be seen at Eldora.com/events.
“Thanks to the dedication and hard work of all of our departments, and especially our snowmakers and groomers,” says Brian Dobias, Eldora’s interim general manager, “we’re excited to be able to open as scheduled on Friday, November 14. We’re looking forward to welcoming our guests back for another fun winter at the Front Range’s backyard mountain.”
Here’s what to expect for Opening Day…
- Lift Hours: 9:00–4:00 on weekdays, 8:30–4:00 on weekends.
- Lodge Hours: 8:00–4:00 on weekdays, 7:30–4:00 on weekends
- Open Terrain: 1,000 vertical feet of terrain will be open, including Hornblower and International trails, plus a small Woodward terrain park near West Wing Lodge. No beginner terrain, lessons, uphill access, or Nordic/snowshoe trails will be open, but everyone is welcome to join the party in the base area.
- Safety: Expect limited terrain and thin, early-season conditions. No tree-skiing/riding areas will be open. Guests should not venture off groomed runs and should be prepared to ski and ride safely and responsibly all season long, bearing in mind the Responsibility Code and Colorado Ski Safety Act every time they hit the slopes.
- Eldora Passes: Eldora Pass holders who reloaded their Eldora Cards from last season can go straight to the lift. Otherwise, pick up your pass at the automated Pick-Up Box at Indian Peaks Lodge using the QR code in your confirmation email. Hot tip: make sure you’ve uploaded a photo and signed your waiver to avoid being stalled at the RFID gate.
- Ikon Passes: Ikon Pass holders can go straight to the lift; if you haven’t received your pass in the mail, we can print it for you at the Subie Shack just west of Indian Peaks Lodge (look for the Ikon Pass flags).
- Day Tickets: Purchase online, in advance, at store.eldora.com and then retrieve at the Pick-Up Box using your confirmation email’s QR code, as described above.
