UPHILL PASS REQUIRED
Eldora's Uphill Policy is in effect during the winter season.
Uphill travel is permitted during Eldora's winter operating season, unless otherwise noted in our Conditions & Snow Report. Uphill travelers are required to have an Eldora Uphill Pass & follow resort rules, including the best practices outlined below. Uphill Passes are required at the start of the 26/27 season.
UPHILL PASS REQUIRED
Eldora offers uphill access on specific routes at specific times to pass holders who ski and snowboard and wish to ascend under their own power using specialized uphilling gear.
Every uphiller needs an Uphill Pass. Here’s how to get yours:
- Have an Ikon Pass or Eldora Alpine Season Pass? Your Uphill Pass is free. But it’s not automatic. Add the free Uphill Pass to your cart in our online store and check out at $0.
- No season pass? Buy an Uphill Season Pass in our online store.
Before you go, read the uphill rules below. Every uphiller is responsible for knowing and following them.
Uphill Pass Rules:
1. All uphill travelers are required to have a 26/27 Uphill Pass and to sign a 26/27 waiver before accessing open and designated uphill travel routes at Eldora.
2. Armbands must be worn by all uphill travelers at all times when utilizing uphill travel routes on resort property, during both operating and non-operating hours. Please make sure that your armband is visible at all times. Armbands can be picked up at Indian Peaks Lodge. We encourage you to reuse your armband from previous seasons.
3. A signature of a 26/27 waiver form by a parent or legal guardian is required for minor children ages 17 and under.
4. The Uphill Pass + Armband DOES NOT provide lift access either up or down the mountain.

DESIGNATED UPHILL PASS ROUTES
Uphill travel routes are available during the winter season as conditions permit. We will open uphill travel routes in line with our ability to effectively manage and operate all functions within the entire resort, including but not limited to snowmaking, trail grooming, equipment maintenance, snow removal, etc.
We clearly mark uphill routes on our trail map with a yellow dashed line.
During the winter ski and snowboard season, uphill travel is restricted to the routes listed below. Uphill routes may be realigned or removed as circumstances warrant.

A NOTE ON SAFETY
When alpine touring at Eldora consider yourself backcountry skiing / riding. During pre-opening, operating hours the ski area is maintained with heavy machinery, and at times, explosives. Outside of normal operating hours, Eldora is uncontrolled and unpatrolled.
Always know before you go and maintain Personal Responsibility and Backcountry safety protocol. Be aware of unmarked hazards and again, please respect Eldora Mountain Operations crews as they prepare and maintain terrain for the current or impending season.
Any rescue operations that are initiated on your behalf can result in the loss of skiing/snowboarding privileges and you will be subject to being billed for the total amount of the costs incurred by Eldora during rescue operations. The length of time that your skiing/snowboarding privileges will be revoked will be determined by Eldora Ski Patrol and resort management.
